Today

A little bit of heartburn. A desire to write a story. Tired. Sitting at a coffee shop for another 10 to 15 until I go to a book club at church. Something I internally want to scoff at. Who do I think I am? An old voice losing a battle to something new and less judgy. Why not? I ate a chicken tarragon wrap while I was here, still finishing a green tea sweetened with honey. I used to be vegan but I haven’t been in a long time. Not since I lived in Vegas and broke edge because I kept going to sushi and you can only order cucumber rolls for so long. I want a job doing something I enjoy. Which is tough… because what do I continuously enjoy? Loving you. That is… when I’m not feeling jealous or crazy. Even then I never wanna stop (I can’t get enough!!). Now, if I could just take that ferocity and apply it to my writing, I might finish the books I have queued up in my head. At that thought, I can’t wait to be in bed. Pause to challenge—I am excited to be a part of the world. Thank you for my body. Thank you for the ability to grow new life. And I mean that about the baby, but also for myself, it’s all sort of new.
